Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports The starting defensive tackles are projected to be Payton Page and DeMonte Capehart. I wrote all about Capehart a few weeks back - he is my pick to have a huge season and earn himself a better rookie NFL contract. Page is another tackle with an NFL build (6'4", 310 lbs) that could use this season as a starter to make some money when he enters the NFL draft. Like Capehart, we've seen the flashes of what he can do, but now we need to see his full potential. I also expect we'll see a heavy amount of Tré
ссылка Williams rotated in at defensive tackle. Williams was a guy people were excited about last year, but unfortunately he missed most of the season with injury and was forced to medically redshirt. I fully expect him to be the 2018 Albert Huggins or Nyles Pinckney of this group, where when he subs in the defense doesn't miss a beat.Looking behind the starters, first up after Peter Woods will be Cade Denhoff and AJ Hoffler. I really want to see Denhoff work his way into being a solid backup because that will help keep Woods fresh in his new position.Cade Denhoff could see significant playing time in 2024. Ken Ruinard-USA TODAY Sports On the other end, you have Jahiem Lawson and Caden Story poised for rotational snaps. Lawson (little brother of Clemson great Shaq) caught of lot of eyes during the spring game; he's coming into the year at 6'4", 251, so he's 11 pounds bigger than he was last year. He seemed a bit undersized" before, so I love that he's bulked up a bit, particularly if he winds up playing a bigger role in this defense. Caden Story had an offseason arrest for possession of marijuana, so I won't be shocked if we see him suspended for the first 2-3 games. At backup defensive tackle will also be Vic Burley. At 6'4", 332 lbs he's Clemson's biggest defensive tackle. He was a five-star recruit in the class of 2022 and I'd love to see him work his way into the regular rotation.Other guys who could get some looks on the defensive line this year include Stephiylan Green, Zaire Patterson, Darien Mayo, Hevin Brown-Shuler, and Champ Thompson, among others.
